On Thursday, Feb. 22, at 5 p.m. PT, open workout 18.5 was announced. It was one of three workout options given earlier in the day and put to a vote for the CrossFit community. The workout was a repeat of "Open 11.6" from 2011.

The workouts for the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games Open were announced live each week from locations around the world. Shortly after Director of the Games Dave Castro announced the week’s challenge, select athletes competed in the workout and set the scores to beat.

The final workout was announced from CrossFit Reykjavík in Reykjavík, Iceland, and was the "battle of the Dottirs." With two Fittest on Earth titles under their belts, Annie Thorisdottir and Katrin Davidsdottir competed against each other and 2017 Games fourth-place finisher Sara Sigmundsdottir.
