These workouts were created by 555 Fitness, an organization dedicated to “reducing line of duty deaths in the fire service,” including through physical fitness.
555 Fitness Founder, Captain Larry Manasco created “Honor WODs” for each of the 343 FDNY members lost during the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001. He began writing workouts…with a small bit of information about each members life. At the time, he had no idea these workouts would attract so much attention [and] that so many family members of the victims would reach out …”
By sharing the 555 Fitness “Honor WODs” (we list them as “Hero WODs”), each with credit to the source, we hope to spread these workouts and the memories of the firefighters they are named for.
