- 1 mile Run
- 9 Squat Cleans (95/65 lb)
- 18 Thrusters (95/65 lb)
- 20 Renegade Rows (3-count) (2x30/20 lb)
- 18 Burpees
With a running clock, complete 3 rounds of the work in the order written.
Score is the time on the clock when the last Burpee is completed.
Renegade Row: Start in the Plank position with each hand on a Dumbbell. Perform one Dumbbell Row on the left, one Dumbbell Row on the right, then a Dumbbell Push-Up. That completes a single repetition.
About the wod
Background: On September 18, 2018, Wendy Martinez went on her last run. She lost her life to a senseless act of violence.
Wendy was a former member of Reformation Fitness DC @reformationfitness (Washington, DC, USA). In an email with WODwell, Reformation Fitness DC’s co-owner, Misook Issa told us that Head Coach Nick Wallace @coachnicklifts designed the workout in conjunction with the Wendy Martinez Legacy Project @wendyslegacy as part of a worldwide effort to honor Wendy through fitness.
As to the rep scheme, Misook writes: “3 rounds of 1 mile run. 9/18/2018 the day she was taken from us and the movements that she enjoyed/ wanted to improve on. She did not make it back home on that day but we as a community did the workout and made it back home for her.”
