Scott Wirtz, 42, of St. Louis, a former US Navy SEAL, one of four American civilians killed in a suicide bombing by the Islamic State in Syria on January 16, 2019.

A decorated Navy SEAL and operations support specialist with the Defense Intelligence Agency, Wirtz was “the person that always wanted to serve his country and was doing all of these great things... Anyone who serves in the service especially at that level, you have to have that state of mind of ‘I’m going all in for what I love, my passion,’ and that was him.”

This Hero WOD was created by Complete Fitness in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri - first posted as a memorial WOD, hosted at the gym on February 2, 2019. "Scott’s dad and step-mom, Dave and Fran, are longtime members of Complete Fitness and are a huge part of our gym family."
