"The Big Nasty" benchmark WOD was created by Fearless Athletics (Philadelphia, PA, USA). The earliest mention found on their website archive was from November 24, 2011, though it appears they programmed the workout at least once before that. It's been a regularly occurring fitness test in that gym's workout programming since.
