Score is time completed. It will be on the longer side so prepare accordingly. Pacing is key. That said, it is a grinder and not a sprint. Do the work and do your best per the example of Justice Ginsberg.
Sub 174 single-unders for doubles. Select loads that allow you to keep moving while performing most of the work unbroken only taking short breaks between moves or rounds.
Do take a short recovery before completing the carry. Forearms and grip will be fatigued.
About the wod
In honor of the life and achievements of Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, I created the following memorial workout for my athletes in Chattanooga. Originally, the workout featured three, 87 rep buy-ins to call to mind the three bouts of cancer she endured. But I was wrong. RBG suffered through five different cancer battles all while continuing her work to preserve and serve justice.
The buy-in and cash-out represent her age when she died — 87. The three round and nine round sections represent both her birthdate and the day of her passing. Alternating sides stand-in for the fight for women and men to be considered equal in terms of rights, privileges, freedoms, and compensation. The Farmer’s Carry cash-out for 87M now stands for her strength to push-on past her own experience with sexual discrimination, her fortitude to fight the inequalities being forced on women and others in the work place, plus, her personal health battles.
“Fight for the little things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you” — RBG
