- 6 Turkish Get-Ups (55/35 lb, 3 each arm)
- 6 Bear Complexes (135/95 lb)*
- 200 meter Run
- *1 Bear Complex consists of: 1 Power Clean, 1 Front Squat, 1 Push Press, 1 Back Squat, 1 Push Press
With a running clock, as fast as possible perform the prescribed work in the order written for 4 rounds. Athlete must accomplish 6 Turkish Get-Ups, 6 Bear Complexes and a 200 meter Run for each round. One Bear Complex consists of an unbroken Power Clean, Front Squat, Push Press, Back Squat, and Push Press.
Score is the time on the clock when the last 200 meter Run is completed.
About the wod
This workout was designed by Coach Jen Grosso @jengrosso_ of CrossFit Barbending @crossfit_barbending (East Brunswick, NJ, USA), along with her best friend (and Pete's sister) Donna Borst @dkborst.
In a conversation with WODwell, Coach Jen shared: "the 'Peter Pan' WOD is meant to raise awareness about suicide and the support that people can get if they are contemplating suicide. For that reason, it is meant to be done with others to show that support is always around you. "
"The Turkish Get-Ups represent getting up even when life and circumstances knock you down. The Bear Complex signifies enduring strength and the cycle of dealing with complex life issues and carrying a heavy weight on your shoulders. The run is a quick-burning sprint that is meant to remind you to take a deep breath when things get hard. The 6 reps for 4 rounds signifies 24 for the age Pete will eternally be, gone too young and too soon."
