- 5 rep max Back Squats
- Time Cap: 12 minutes
With the clock set to 12 minutes, at 3,2,1, GO, the athlete will have 12 minutes to establish a 5 rep max Back Squat. The barbell must be taken from the rack and the ATHLETE ONLY is responsible for the loading/unloading of the barbell – they can not receive assistance. The use of a spotter or spotter arms is not permitted.
The athlete’s score is the final weight successfully lifted for 5 reps at the end of the 12 minutes.
Back Squat: The barbell must be taken from the rack for each attempt at the 5 reps. In the back squat, the barbell must be held behind the neck on the athlete’s shoulders or back. At the bottom, the crease of the hips must pass below the height of the kneecap. At the top, the knees and hips must be completely open with the barbell in control.
