At 3-2-1 go, the athlete may begin Jumping Rope. The Rope must pass under the athlete’s feet twice before feet again strike the ground for the Double-Under to count. Once 100 Double-Unders are completed, the athlete may begin 10 Alternating Devil Presses. A Devil Press is a Burpee followed by a Dumbbell Snatch from the ground. These Devil Presses must include alternating arms. The transfer of the Dumbbell may be completed anywhere (including the ground during the Burpee) after the arm is locked out. During the Dumbbell Snatch, the arm not working should not touch any part of the athlete’s body.

Once the athlete completes 10 Devil Presses, they may begin the 100-foot Walking Lunges. For Overhead Lunges the Dumbbell must be raised and the arm posted before the athlete Lunges. Lunges are complete when the athlete has stood erect then touched the knee to the ground and stood erect again. Athletes should “walk through” the Lunges, standing up completely and maintaining the Dumbbell in either the overhead or front-rack position. If the athlete pauses between Lunges (not walking through), the athlete may not “stutter step” at all. Simply: The athlete may not gain any ground when not lunging.

Lunges will be completed in 5’ increments on a 25’ stretch. If an athlete is no-repped, they must return to behind the last 5’ mark before reps will count again. Every 5 feet is 1 rep. Athletes must finish with the front foot fully across the line for the rep to count. Athletes will cover the 25’ four times (down and back, down and back) for the full 100’.

Score is the time on the clock when the full 3 rounds are completed.

Background: “MFCC Qualifier 21.3” was the 3rd of 5 total WODs for the 2021 Master’s Fitness Collective Championship Online Qualifier competition. The main event was held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on September 2-5, 2021. The competition is “Masters-only” consisting of 35-65+ men and women athletes.
