Friends knew Jason as “Big Hus,” a father and natural leader from Wilkinsburg with a relentless competitive streak.
Landen was born in Santa Cruz, Calif., fell in love with Broadway and moved later to Pittsburgh, bringing his outgoing personality to a new city.
Known by friends and family as a good samaritan, Landen was a member of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh - where Cross Fit War Streets is housed. He pulled over on Interstate 376 to help Jason, whose vehicle was disabled. Around 4:00pm on January 26th another car hit Landen's vehicle and the two men were thrown over the barrier onto the road below where they were hit by an oncoming vehicle.
Their lives converged fatefully on the outbound Parkway East, where Mr. Jones stopped to help Mr. Jackson. As state police investigate the violent crash that killed them there, family and friends remember both as spirited, caring men with an eye toward the future.
CrossFit War Streets @crossfitwarstreets (Pittsburgh, PA) created this memorial WOD is to remember the two men and the good that took place before tragedy struck.
