This Hero WOD is dedicated to Queensland Police Officer SGT Brendan Hurst who paid the ultimate price for his country on July 15, 2007.

He spent 17 years in the QLD police force and then embarked on a journey to help rebuild the Iraq police academy. Brendan was killed when his vehicle was hit by an IED. He left behind a loving partner, Tanya, and a 22-day old son, Max.

Brendan loved fitness and was responsible for the physical education of officers and the training in police operations and tactics. Tanya is part of the Coastal Queensland Crossfit community and worked alongside Chris Saliba to write this tough WOD.

@AustralianHeroGames shared this Hero WOD, which was created "to honor Brendan, his family, his duty to serve and to leave a lasting memory for his son Max."

According to Max @hursty_21, who commented on our Instagram post, credit for designing the workout goes to Chris Saliba and Coastal CrossFit @coastalcrossfit for designing the workout. "It’s great to see that dad is still thought of and that his memories lives on," he said.
