On a 23-minute clock, perform as many rounds and repetitions as possible (AMRAP) of the prescribed work in the order written.

Score is the total number of rounds and repetitions completed before the 23-minute clock stops.

Movement Standards

Weighted Sit-Ups Twist: This is a variation of the standard Sit-Up wherein athlete will hold a Plate against the chest while performing the movement and twisting the torso to the left or right at the end of the rep.

Supinated Ring Row: This is a variation of the standard Ring Rows wherein the athlete holds the rings in a supine position, hands facing the body, instead of hands facing the Rings. Watch movement demo.

Background: This workout is dedicated to Michael Jordan, born on February 17, 1963, who is an American businessman and former professional basketball player.

He is the principal owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and of 23XI Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series. He played 15 seasons in the NBA, winning six championships with the Chicago Bulls. His biography on the official NBA website states:

“By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.”

He was integral in helping to popularize the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming a global cultural icon in the process.

The workout was designed by CrossFit Trenches @crossfit_trenches (Lake St Louis, MO, USA) to celebrate the Black History Month in February 2021.

The rep scheme signifies:
– 23 minutes for Jordan’s jersey number
– 14 reps for 14 All-Star Games he played
– 10 reps for 10 times Top Scoring Champion
– 6 reps for the number of NBA Championship titles and Finals MVP
– 45 reps for Jordan’s number after he came back from retirement.
