- AMRAP in 9 minutes
- 5 Bar Facing Burpees
- 1 Clean-and-Jerk (155/135)
- 10 Bar Facing Burpees
- 2 Clean-and-Jerks (155/135)
- Continue with this pattern, adding 5 Bar Facing Burpees and 1 Clean-and-Jerk every round.
On a 9-minute clock, perform as many repetitions as possible (AMRAP) of the prescribed work in the order written. Athlete will perform 5 Bar Facing Burpees and 1 Clean-and-Jerk in the first round. Continue with this pattern, adding 5 Bar Facing Burpees and 1 Clean-and-Jerk every round.
Score is the total number of repetitions completed before the 9-minute clock stops.
About the wod
George Floyd was known as a peace activist and a respected community leader.
This workout was designed by @peterabundant of Wakanda Fit LLC @wakandafitllc.
In an email with WODwell, Peter described his inspiration as: "George was placed on the floor for about 9 minutes which is why I made it a 9 minute AMRAP. He was face down and stated he couldn't breathe which reminded me of burpees. The officer on his neck weighs about 155lbs which I chose to be a weigh for the barbell. Clean and Jerks represents the desire George must have had to lift the officer off of him. I increased the reps every round to represent how much more difficult it must have been for Goerge to breathe as time went on."
