"Invasion of the Medball Snatchers," 2016 Festivus Games WOD #3

  • With a Running Clock (with a Partner) in 10 minutes
  • From 0:00-6:00, perform:
  • 20 Partner Medicine Ball Sit-Ups (20/14 lb)
  • Then, 4 Rounds each of:
  • 10 yard Medicine Ball Run (20/14 lb)
  • 10 Wall Ball Shots (20/14 lb, 10/9 ft)
  • 10 yard Medicine Ball Run (20/14 lb)
  • From 6:00-10:00, perform:
  • Max Rep Power Snatches (95/65 lb)

From 0:00-6:00, each athlete performs 10 Sit-Ups passing the Medicine Ball to the partner each rep. After the Sit-Ups are completed, proceed to complete 4 rounds each athlete of 10 yard Medicine Ball Run, 10 Wall Ball Shots, and 10 yard Medicine Ball Run. Then from 6:00-10:00, perform as many repetitions of Power Snatches.

Score is the total number of repetitions completed before the 10-minute clock stops.

Scaling Options

With a Running Clock (with a Partner) in 10 minutes
From 0:00-6:00, perform:
20 Partner Medicine Ball Sit-Ups (14/10 lb)

Then, 4 Rounds each of:
10 yard Medicine Ball Run (14/10 lb)
10 Wall Ball Shots (14/10 lb, 10/9 ft)
10 yard Medicine Ball Run (14/10 lb)

From 6:00-10:00, perform:
Max Rep Power Snatches (65/45 lb)

Background: “Invasion of the Medball Snatchers” (a.k.a. “FG Qualifier 16.3”) was the 3rd of 4 WODs for the 2016 Festivus Games. Festivus Games was designed so it wouldn’t be necessary to scale the events. No athlete, whether six months in or brand new, will need to scale any of the events. The competition is about capacity more than a high degree of skill.
