2020 CrossFit Italian Showdown Qualifier WOD #1

  • 10 Rounds for Time
  • 10 Single-Arm Dumbbell Overhead Squats (22.5/15 kg)
  • 20 Double-Unders

With a running clock, as fast as possible perform the prescribed work in the order written for 10 rounds.

Score is the time on the clock when the last round of the Double-Unders is completed.

Movement Standards

Single-Arm Dumbbell Overhead Squat: Each repetition must start with the Dumbbell in the Overhead position and finish in the same position after performing a full Squat. In the bottom position, it is mandatory to go below the parallel (iliac crest lower than the knee), while in the top position you must extend knees, hips and arm with the Dumbbell in control and in line or slightly behind the midline of the body. Feet must be aligned. The athlete is allowed to change arm as he wishes. The hand that does not work cannot come into contact with the body or the Dumbbell.

Double-Under: Each jump must correspond to two passages of the Rope under the athlete’s body. The rope must turn forward.

Background: “CrossFit Italian Showdown Qualifier 20.1” (a.k.a: “CIS Qualifier 20.1”) was the 1st of 3 WODs for the 2020 CrossFit Italian Showdown competition.

The biggest community gathering in Europe – with over 8,000 people in 3 days, 288 affiliates from 23 countries and 1,000 competitors on site – is now a CrossFit, Inc. sanctioned event rewarding the male and female winners with the invitation to compete at the 2020 CrossFit Games.

The uniqueness of the CrossFit Italian Showdown lied in the fact that up to 1,500 competitors are admitted to the first day of the Live event. Everybody can feel the energy of the arena, have fun and prove his/her fitness, no matter his/her age or skill level.
