2019 CrossFit Italian Showdown WOD #2
- For Time
- 25 Double Kettlebell Deadlifts (2x48/36 kg)
- Then, for max distance in the remaining time:
- Time Cap: 3 minutes
The three qualifying workouts are based on the 3-minute on and 1-minute off template. The first part for time is the tie-breaker, the second part for points is the final score. For each workout, the athlete can choose his/her favorite movement out of 2 available versions (Rx and scaled) and declare it to the judge (mixing up the two movements is not allowed).
Double Kettlebell Deadlift: This is a traditional deadlift with the arms and kettlebells outside the legs. Sumo deadlift is not allowed. Starting at the floor, the athlete lifts the kettlebells until hips and knees reach full extension. The arms must be straight throughout. The kettlebells must be lowered to the ground after each rep. No bouncing. No dropping.
BikeErg: Monitor must be reset to zero before start. The dumper must be at least set to Level 2 (no Level 1).
About the wod
Background: The CrossFit Italian Showdown Online Qualifier workout #2 was the second of three total workouts. The workout is a two-part for time deadlifts and max effort BikeErg.
The biggest community gathering in Europe – with over 8,000 people in 3 days, 288 affiliates from 23 countries and 1,000 competitors on site – is now a CrossFit, Inc. sanctioned event rewarding the male and female winners with the invitation to compete at the 2019 CrossFit Games.
The uniqueness of the CrossFit Italian Showdown lied in the fact that up to 1,500 competitors are admitted to the first day of Live event. Everybody can feel the energy of the arena, have fun and prove his/her fitness, no matter his/her age or skill level.
