Background: This tribute workout is dedicated to Officer Ryan “Chopper” Masales, of the Vancouver Police Department, who has faced an extended fight with Glioblastoma Multiforme.

We first found this workout posted by Dogs Den CrossFit @dogsdencrossfit (Langley, British Columbia, Canada) who hosted a fundraising event on December 1, 2019, in Ryan’s honor.

In an email with WODwell, Dogs Den co-owner Coach Feddy Lau confirmed that he created “Chopper” for Ryan, who is also a close friend and co-worker.

Freddy writes: “Significant of the rep scheme is that his badge number with the Vancouver Police Department is 2056. Movements were chosen as the movement were not super technical so it can be friendly to all types of fitness levels. Only kicker is you want to take less breaks as there is a built in of 5 burpees EMOM to keep the motivation up.”
