On March 22nd 2016, Brussels, Belgium, was struck by 2 simultaneous terrorist attacks: one at the National Airport of Zaventem, the other at the Metro station of Maalbeek, during rush hour. 32 people were killed, 340 injured.

To commemorate this mournful event the coaches of CrossFit 1815 (Waterloo, Belgium), created the WOD as a tribute, which, they said "hope to be worthy of the suffering of the victims & the true heroes of that day, who came at their rescue."
