About the wod
Background: This workout is dedicated to LA Sheriff’s Deputy Claudia Apolinar who was ambushed with her partner and shot while in their squad car on September 12, 2020.
Apolinar was shot in the jaw and twice in her torso, yet still managed to radio for help and attach a life-saving tourniquet to her wounded partner before medics arrived. Both of them survived the ambush.
Apolinar, a former librarian and a mother, graduated from the Los Angeles Police Academy only 14 months before the ambush.
The workout was designed by No Limit Fitness Studio @nolimitfitnessstudio (Washington, IL, USA) to raise awareness of the incident and help with fundraising efforts for the Sheriff Department.
