The final Open workout of the year is a couplet of thrusters and chest to bar pull-ups. The weight on the bar for athletes who are completing this as a normal class workout should be something they are capable of completing 20+ repetitions unbroken. Receptions will continue to go up by 3 until the 7 minutes has concluded. For breakdown of all divisions, check games.crossfit.com. We will run two heats today again to allow for athletes to judge each other if necessary.

Just like in any ascending ladder workout we do, the first few rounds can be treated as a buy-in. To put things into perspective, the rounds of 3-6-9 add up to 36 repetitions. Just the rounds of 12-15 and the 18 thrusters is 72 repetitions, double that of the first three rounds. Needless to say that the work truly starts on the set of 12’s. Breaking the thrusters and chest to bar pull-ups into 2 to 3 sets beginning at the 12’s could be beneficial. For athletes who struggle with a higher number of chest to bars, multiple sets of 3 or even quick single may help keep them moving more consistently. It is better to break these up early on purpose than it is to break them up later because they are forced to. Last Open workout of they year. Push hard, have fun! It’s been a great 5 weeks.
