- 7 Strict Pull-Ups
- 4 Deadlifts (335/225 lb)
- 18 Push-Ups
- 400 meter Sandbag Run (48/36 lb)
About the wod
Justin has saved 6 lives with his healthy, thriving organs that were donated shortly after his passing.
We first found this workout posted by CrossFit Southie @crossfitsouthie (Boston, MA, United States) on July 11, 2018. Further research revealed that the workout was designed by CrossFit Southie's owner and head coach Amy Gosler.
In an email with WODwell, Amy told us that Justin was an intern in their coaching program as well as a member for several years. She also noted the following:
"31 minutes represent Justin's age when he passed away. 42 calories represent his engine number. Finally, the rep scheme 7-4-18 is the date of his passing.
It all starts off with a tribute bike ride. Justin LOVED heavy deadlifts and also liked workouts with basic bodyweight movements that he did in the Marines- strict pull-ups and push-ups. The sandbag is to signify running with a load of firefighter gear."
