With a running clock, as fast as possible perform the prescribed work. Athlete must complete 2 rounds of 2 Bear Complexes, 20 Sit-Ups, 25 Push-Ups, 38 Deadlifts, and 60 Box Step-Ups. During each rep for the Bear Complex, if the Barbell is set on the ground generally the rep starts over. After the 2 rounds, complete 74 Lateral Bar Over Burpees.

Score is the time on the clock when the 74th Burpee is completed.

Background: This memorial workout is dedicated to Clay Fillis who passed away on March 11, 2020.

Clay fiercely loved his family and friends. He constantly showed it through acts of service and giving of his time. He held himself and others to high standards. Clay was a strong, honorable man. When he builds things, he built them to last. He liked to make sure he did the job well.

Clay pushed himself daily with his workouts at the gym and encourage others as well. He often challenged others to push up competitions. Those along with Deadlifts and any partner-based exercise were his favorite. Helping others was a huge motivator for him.

Clay’s life was filled with music. In high school, he learned to play the trombone, baritone, and tuba. Clay taught his children to love music as well and encouraged them to pick instruments. He facilitated small groups of friends to play music together for church, holiday programs and just for fun.

He played tube in the 204th division Army Reserve Band for most of his 20-year career before he retired in 2019 with the rank of Master Sergeant.

The thing that brought him the most joy was his grandchildren, Walter and Amelia. He would often drop everything to spend time with them. Clay was a wonderful husband, father, son, grandfather, leader, mentor, and friend.
